Hello Everyone,
MICK’S SPIRIT runs today at Chelmsford in the 19:00 – This horse is very jockey dependent and hopefully George Wood will get the best out of him. The key to him is not to go too quick too early because he barely gets 5 furlongs, so I’m relying on George to be using the clock in his head and for the first 3 furlongs to not be going as fast as MICK’S SPIRIT will want to go. If he’s able to hang onto him and to take him to about a furlong and a half out before he asks him to kick, MICK’S SPIRIT will be extremely competitive today, in what is a very winnable race for him.
He’s always good in this grade and has taken a little while since his last win to drop back down, to be able to get into a 0-65 but that is this grade, a Class 5 0-65 and he’s got an excellent draw in stall 1. So providing George rides him as patiently as he can from a handy position, we will be disappointed if he doesn’t trouble the judge.
Good Luck
Conrad
