Hi everyone,

It’s Showtime had become frustrating recently by being very slowly away from the stalls, often spoiling her chance from the start. Finally at Yarmouth on her penultimate start she refused to come out of the gate under Saffie Osbourne. So we had some work to do!

We changed her training regime and with the help of Jake Launchbury the stalls expert we got her jumping out again at home. We have taken to putting a blindfold on her and take it off at the last second to shock her into jumping quickly. It works at home so we then took her to Chelmsford before racing to do a pre race assessment with the BHA starting team and it worked there also. So we sent her to Chelmsford last time out over 6f to see if that would work under race conditions. It did and she just got tired in the last furlong.

Now back at Southwell over 5f where she has run well in the past we are hoping that she can be really competitive in this grade. She has always worked to a higher level at home and if she breaks out of the stalls with them we are hopeful of at least a place.
